Here is the first song I am posting from my “live in the spare bed room” session this weekend. Remember, these are only going to be demo quality recordings, mainly for the purpose of letting you hear it like it would sound with me sitting on your couch playing.
I am singing these words as much to myself as to others.
Today I saw for the first time a book by a guy named Dan Merchant with the title “Lord, save us from your followers”, it seemed very much in line with my thought process here.

Less like criminals
We look less like criminals and more like stars
With the mirrors we’ve created with our own hearts
And to a world with eagle eyes we begin believing our own lies
We think if we forget then maybe they will tooWe hold on to the way it’s always been
Thinking less of what our Maker says then the traditions of men
We’ve become the modern day Pharisees
We find it hard to see our own sin
We’ve told ourselves there is no needAnd I keep trying to fill up this poor broken cup
With sandy water from this homemade well
And the truth of the matter is that only truth matters
In a time when lies seem easier to tellHelp me long for your will more than I do safety
More than any false sense of peace
As I look forward to glory while living in this story
Help me not forget the author’s more intriguing than the tale

Thank you buddy. I downloaded everything today and listened while working through Judges 2 for sermon on Sunday. You are blessing to me. A reminder of God’s grace in my past and an assurance of God’s faithfulness in my future.
